Dr Tom Bracewell

MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Tom Bracewell is originally from Yorkshire, the largest (many say the best) county in the UK. He graduated from Nottingham Medical School and worked in Emergency medicine in Australia before undertaking General practice training in North London in the UK. His areas of interest include sports, elderly medicine, paediatrics, and smoking cessation.

Dr Vijaya Venkatesan

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr. Vijaya comes to our Centre with many years of experience in general practice.

After obtaining her Degree in Medicine, Dr Vijaya worked for 10 years in India as a GP and then in South East Asia (Brunei & Malaysia). Her move to Geelong provided a new and exciting GP opportunity, as well as the advantage of being close to her grandson and daughter.

Dr Vijaya's passion for Women's and Children's health, existing from the beginning of her career, continues today, as well as a keen interest in taking care of chronic medical conditions and elderly patients. She is proficient with Implanon Insertion/Removal, IUD Insertion/Removal and Family planning. She is fluent in Tamil, Telugu and Malay.

Dr Sukhdeep Baweja

MD, FRACGP

Dr Baweja has a wealth of experience in general practice and is with us 1 day a week at Waurn Ponds Medical Centre. He has a warm and welcoming personality and likes to build long lasting relationships with his patients , young and old.

Dr Baweja has special interest in assisting patients with complex medical issues and/or multiple conditions. With a passion for preventative medicine, children's health and chronic disease management, Sukhdeep considers individual patient circumstances and works toward a team apprach to long term health inprovement.

Dr Baweja is a RACGP accredited GP Trainer and Supervisor, regularly mentoring, training and overseeing GP's undergoing their specialist Fellowship training.

In his spare time, Dr Baweja enjoys spending time with his family and loves a 'naked' burrito for lunch!

Dr Mohamed Javid

MBBS

After completing his undergraduate Medical Degree in Melbourne, Dr Javid headed back to Singapore, where he is originally from. He worked here for a few years, before moving to New Zealand to complete his General Practice Fellowship.
Dr Javid is comfortable managing most GP presentations, and has areas of interest in chronic disease management and minor surgery.
Outside of work, Dr Javid's free time is mostly family time, with any other spare time, usually spent exploring different walking tracks or swimming.

Dr Shabnum Khan

MBBS; BSc; MRCGP

Dr Khan has joined us from the UK, where she graduated in 2011 from St. Bartholomews & The Royal London, School of Medicine & Dentistry.
After completing her intern years in the UK, she worked in an emergency medicine and Anaesthesia in Australia before moving back to the UK to complete her GP training.
She has a very holistic approach to care with all her patients and is keen to also further her interests in women’s health.
She is very approachable and likes to tackle situations with an open mind.
Having children herself, she understands the stress and anxiety parents can struggle with when caring for sick children. As such she has a keen interest in children’s health and in offering appropriate reassurance or further medical input as required.
Dr Khan is fluent in Urdu.

Dr Hadi Jeiroodi

MBBS , FRACGP

Dr Jeiroodi has been a practicing GP in Australia since 2014, after graduating in 1998. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, with a broad interest across the various aspects of general practice.
Dr Jeiroodi has a special interest in chronic disease management, pregnancy, sexual health, skin conditions, and mental health. Fluent in English, Persian and Farsi

Dr Jehan-Hari Joethy

MBBS , FRACGP

Dr Joethy has worked in numerous positions across the UK, Singapore, and Australia. Dr Joethy is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
His interests include Integrative Medicine, Chronic Disease Management, TAC and Workcover as well as Mental Health.
Outside of the clinic, Jehan is interested in health and fitness and enjoys a range of activities.

Beth Garla

Lead Nurse (RN); Certified Cervical Screening Provider (Vic) Certified for Implanon insertion and removal.

Beth is a Registered Nurse originally from Regional North East Victoria. After completing her nursing studies she has enjoyed working in various areas, having had experience in Acute, Subacute, Critical Care and Emergency Nursing. Beth has a special interest in sexual and reproductive health, as well as a passion for preventive healthcare and health promotion, particularly in under-screened communities. Through further studies with Sexual Health Victoria and Cancer Council, Beth is also a Certified Cervical Screening Provider, with special training in Trauma Informed Care.

Rachael Aherne

Practice Nurse (RN)

-Rachael is a Registered Nurse who completed her studies in Ballarat. Having grown up in the Geelong region, Rachael is committed to supporting her local community through primary healthcare. Rachael has a special interest in chronic disease management and preventative health. Rachael carries out this passion through her involvement in immunisation and screening programs. Racheal has completed additional studies in vaccine preventable diseases and is a Certified Nurse Immuniser.
