Fees & Payment

Consultations with all doctors will incur an out-of pocket expense, unless otherwise advised.

Bulk-billing is available for the following Medicare Card Holders: *excluding public holidays and weekends*

  • Children 15 years of age and younger
  • Current and valid concession card holders (verification will be required)
  • Chronic Disease Management Care Plans and Care Plan Reviews
  • Health Assessments (age-based, ATSI)
  • Childhood Immunisations

Patients may be bulk billed for any consultation at the GP’s discretion.

Please be advised that it is inappropriate to request or demand this from the GP, or at the time of booking.

Patients may incur an out-of-pocket expense of up to $50 (weekdays) and $60 (weekends/public holidays) for consultations with our GPs as follows:

Other consultations may incur a fee (as determined by the GP) where patients will be out of pocket, up to $50 (after any Medicare Rebate that may apply).

WEEKENDS/PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

All consultations will incur an out-of-pocket fee on weekends and public holidays (including Children and Concession Card holders), of up to $60 (after any Medicare Rebate that may apply).

Patients may only receive an immediate Medicare Rebate where they have current bank account details set up with Medicare. Receipts can be given for manual processing with Medicare as needed.  Phone tap services may only work if you can switch between a credit and debit facility, so having your physical card is recommended.

PROCEDURES

All procedures, with all GP’s may incur a non-rebated, out-of-pocket fee, as determined by the Nurse and/or GP. These fees may vary depending on the type of procedure and products used.

VACCINATIONS

Some vaccinations may incur a non-rebated, out-of-pocket fee, as determined by the Nurse and/or GP. These fees may vary depending on the type of vaccination.

For further information, please discuss possible fees and charges with our staff. Where fees apply, we do accept cash (correct change only), EFTpos and credit card payments. Please note that we do accept American Express.

Referral & Prescription Requests

Please see your doctor if you require a prescription or a referral to see a specialist. We are unable to provide prescriptions or referrals without an appointment. We are unable to e-mail any prescriptions, if you require a prescription from a telephone appointment, it will be sent via eScript, directly to you by SMS, or to the pharmacy.

Test Results

Our nursing staff will ring you to schedule an appointment if directed by your doctor and based upon urgency, to discuss and collect results. Test results cannot be provided over the phone except under special circumstances. Non-urgent recalls will be followed up via SMS from HotDoc.

Appointments

For all appointments with your doctor, please phone (03) 5260 0960 or online via HotDoc.

Please remember that appointments are scheduled at ten (10) minute intervals, Longer consultations are also available. Please inform reception if you require a longer consultation.

If more than one member of your family needs to see a doctor, please advise reception at the time of booking in order to allocate one appointment per person – this will help your doctor run on time.

Emergencies and sick children will be given priority. If the booking relates to this, please advise reception to allow for the appropriate procedures to be carried out before your arrival (where possible).

Please advise reception at least two hours prior to your appointment if you wish to cancel. If you do not give us two hours’ notice, or you do not attend your appointment your doctor will charge you a fee.

St John of God Emergency Department – Myers Street, Geelong – Open 7 days, 7am to 10pm (fees apply)
Epworth Hospital Emergency Department – Epworth Place, Waurn Ponds – Open 24 hours (fees apply)

For non-urgent care, you may choose to visit your local Priority Care Clinic
Barwon Health North Urgent Care – Princes Highway, Norlane – Open 7 days, 10am to 9pm
Geelong Priority Primary Care Clinic – Roslyn Road, Belmont – Open 7 days, 9am to 9pm weekdays or 11am to 9pm weekends
